And so it begins… again

Thankfully E slept well overnight. Often these new cycles wreck her sleep patterns.

Turns out the appointment was a the private hospital today, so no chance in ‘accidentally’ reading THAT article. Oh well.
Both the consultant and specialist nurse was there. Baseline scan were done and then decision regarding when to start the injections, when to have the scan and when the egg collection was postulated. That took some time. Lots of to’ing and fro’ing.
But at over £7000 a pop, you accept this indecision as it all costs.

This morning, approximately £200 was spent. Nearly £2000 worth of donor sperm is flying in from the USA. £600 worth of drugs is being delivered tomorrow.

It’s probably uncouth to speak about costs when struggling with infertility and going through fertility treatment, but it’s something I do worry about (although I have the funds).

For those reading my blog who are lucky enough not to be in our situation, it is eye opening to see the potential costs incurred by couples. Imagine the financial burden for couples that simply can’t afford IVF or similar. All for the opportunity to have a baby.

This is the calm before the storm. I’ll be back to injecting duties and then we’ll see what happens.
